A Thank You Note to Mom and Dad

Christmas 1936

Dear Mom and Dad,

This is a thank you note on this day of my birth many years ago.

Thank you for bringing me into this world. Thank you for showing me all the beautiful things and helping me understand that Love, Faith and Hope are the three most important things. And yes how could I forget the compassion and tenacity that you instilled in me. Thank you for educating me.

Sorry Dad I have never grasped the concept of Maths. And Mom, I can never cook as well as you did!

Right now I can see you Dad sitting on a sofa with a Chota reading The Snows of Kilimanjaro and Mom in the kitchen preparing the Christmas goodies.

Merry Christmas Mom and Dad

Peace, Love and Little Cakes.

Your loving son

Ps: Chota is a peg of whisky. Peace, Love and Little Cakes is from a poem by Matthew Van Ortton
